A favorite subject for many students and filled with inherent wonder, science is best learned by doing! Discover weekly hands-on science activities and learn about scientists that incorporate students’ natural curiosity and questions about our physical world. Our Biomes Science Pack is broken up into 3 monthly units:
First, in Biomes: Rainforest & Tundra students will focus on the exciting world of the busy rainforest, and then explore the frozen tundra. Some of the activities in this unit are mapping the biomes of the world, crafting rainforest layers, making rainsticks, and exploring the animals of the arctic tundra.
Then in Biomes: Boreal Forest & Deciduous Forest, the focus shifts to these two different forest biomes with activities like mapping the conifer life cycle, painting a boreal forest, making beaver puppets, and creating a forest diorama.
Lastly, learn about Biomes: Prairie and Desert with activities in this unit like making a tornado in a bottle, growing prairie grass, and exploring how a cactus stores water.

A favorite subject for many students and filled with inherent wonder, science is best learned by doing! Discover weekly hands-on science activities and learn about scientists that incorporate students’ natural curiosity and questions about our physical world. Our Human Body Science Pack is broken up into 2 monthly units:
In Human Body: Part I, learn about what makes humans function, then study the center of our body—the brain. Some of the activities in this unit are making an x-ray painting, measuring heart rates with a thumbtack, figuring out how long intestines measure, and finally learning about how germs spread (and about the effectiveness of handwashing!).
As the study of the Human Body: Part II continues, learn more about what makes humans function—look at teeth and how genetics determine what humans look like, senses, and on bacteria and how each person can care for their bodies—plus some interesting facts about humans! Some of the activities include finding out what sugary drinks do to our teeth, growing a germ garden, making a life-sized poster of the human body, and doing a listening journaling exercise.

Our Life Cycles & Animals Science Pack is broken up into 2 monthly units:
Begin the first Life Cycles & Animals: Part I unit by learning about many, MANY different animal life cycles! The activities cover how some animals survive, adapted to their environment, and some fascinating facts! Some of the activities are learning how octopuses move, creating a dragonfly wing craft, and finding out why sharks float with an experiment.
As the study continues in Life Cycles & Animals: Part II, we will focus on the remaining animals. Some of the activities are creating a sea turtle life project, making an albatross nest, and sewing a kangaroo pouch craft.

Our Plants Science Pack is broken up into 2 monthly units:
In this first of two Plants units, focus on plant life! This month will cover the basics—what a plant is, the parts of a plant, the life cycle of a plant, and the function of a plant’s leaves. To go along with learning about plants, children will hear some fabulous books with additional learning intertwined! Some of the activities include observing how seeds grow, making a seed mosaic, and diagramming the parts of a leaf.
Then the study of Plants: Part II continues, you will take a closer look at flowers, fruits, and vegetables. There will be many opportunities to explore, play, and, of course, eat many varieties of plants and flowers—including learning about a bizarre group of plants that eat meat! Some of the activities are doing a flower dissection, making a venus flytrap craft, and studying the textures of various barks by doing a bark rubbing exercise.
