Nicky has to spend his summer at his grandmother’s house, and he is certain it is going to be the worst summer ever. There is no one to play with, and she doesn’t even have a TV. But after only a short while there, Nicky finds a raft and everything changes. He discovers all the wonders around him and finds that he has common interests with his grandma, a fellow river rat and artist. Some of the activities in this unit are collaborative drawing, making cornbread, and water bead transfer.
