Hedgie is determined to stay awake this winter! As Hedgie hears about icicles, snowmen, pond ice, and snowflakes from his friends who do not hibernate, he becomes determined to stay awake this winter. When a snowstorm starts, Hedgie finds himself too tired to continue. Lisa finds him out in the cold and cares for him for a few days. During these few days, Hedgie gets to see the wonders of winter before he goes into full hibernation. Some of the activities in this unit are making snowman art, doing a snowflake experiment, and making "snow" for your sensory bins.
