The Big Green Pocketbook is about a young girl who takes the bus to town with her mother. They have a full day in town with many stops and errands. The girl brings her empty pocketbook along with her and fills it with treasures from her day. This book was the winner of the 1993 "Pick of the Lists" Award. Some of the activities in this unit are exploring shades of green, making ice cream in a bag, and sewing a pocketbook.
