Little House in the Big Woods is the first book in a series. It is set in 1871 when Laura Ingalls is 4 years old. Laura lives with her Pa, Ma, and sisters. This book takes readers through life in the Wisconsin woods. Readers will experience winter, Christmas, sugar snow candy, and summer—to name a few adventures! Some of the activities in this unit are building a log cabin out of blocks, making an aromatic clove apple, and playing Hide the Thimble.
